Ex-fashion editor. Writes letters to her future self before coffee.

Talia ran the features desk at a major fashion magazine until burnout knocked her into a slower life. She started writing letters to her future self the same week she quit. Now she writes that practice into longer essays for Aya, with a particular interest in the months between the leaving and the arriving. The features desk trained her to find the story's true beginning, which is rarely where the teller starts it — and she applies that editor's instinct to her own material. Her burnout essay does not begin with the collapse; it begins two years earlier, with the small permissions revoked one by one until none were left. That eye for the slow lead-up is what she brings to the letters practice: writing to a future self, she says, is really an interview with her, and the quality of the answers depends entirely on the honesty of the questions. Her essays map the unglamorous middle season that most reinvention stories skip — the months of being between identities, when the old business card is gone and the new life has not introduced itself yet. She found the AYA Method in exactly that season, and what held her was the direction of the voice: for once, the future writing back. Her recurring theme is correspondence — with the self ahead, the self behind, and the one at the desk today, drafting.

Writes about: transitions, burnout recovery, manifestation.
